Changing BVSD school properties zoning designation within Boulder to more accurately match its current use is the best way to insure the publics’ needs are properly met, both currently and in the future. While the city and district operate under self rule they must work together for the public good even if it seems to be at odds with their own best interests. BVSD’s primary job is educating children. The city’s job is the management of all public realms and the interaction between public and private property as well as its citizens. For over a century, Boulder citizens paid for and donated property to the school district for the benefit of all.
