Mesa State men’s soccer team surges with three-goal game

A three-goal game was just what the Mesa State College men’s soccer team needed to start the season.

The Mavericks handled Colorado Christian in Lakewood on Friday for a 3-0 nonconference victory. Sam Dixon, Nathan Poirier and Ben Medina each scored for the Mavericks.

MONTROSE — The Montrose High School football team dominated the line of scrimmage Friday night, scoring 33 first-quarter points in a 47-0 rout of Piedra Vista, N.M.

On the third play of the game, Nathan Robertson dropped back in coverage and waited for Piedra Vista quarterback PJ Cross to throw downfield.
